This year’s fundraising events at the Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead were phenomenal thanks to a dynamic committee, under the leadership of Gene Jacobi and Phyllis McCarthy. On Friday, June 19, over 300 enthusiastic guests enjoyed delicious New England fare and bid on fabulous auction items, as well as purchased balloon pops, raffle tickets and Regatta merchandise.
Despite heavy rains and gusts of 25 miles per hour, the EYC race committee members, John Koopman and Cheryl Byrne officiated the race on Sunday, with Rick Williams of Chariad and Bruce Owens of Blitzen finishing first in their divisions. Skippers and their crews then joined family and friends for awards and a Father’s Day barbecue.
We wish to acknowledge the Eastern Yacht Club for its gracious hospitality led by Commodore Robbie Doyle, manager Jeff Wargo, club members and staff.
